Academic Year - 2023-2024

The Association meeting for the academic year 2023-24 featured a lecture by Dr. D. Khanna, M.Sc., Ph.D., Assistant Professor at Karunya University, Coimbatore, held on 29th January 2024. Dr. Khanna spoke on the topic பிரபஞ்சத்தின் அற்புதங்கள் மற்றும் மர்மங்கள் (Wonders and Mysteries of the Universe). His presentation offered students a captivating glimpse into the vastness of the universe, broadening their perspectives on the magnificent world beyond our planet.

Academic Year - 2022-2023

In the academic year 2022-2023, the Physics Association hosted a significant event on the 15th of February 2023, featuring a distinguished lecture by Dr. N. Vijayakumar, Principal of Sri KGS Arts College in Srivaikuntam, Tirunelveli. This event was a notable occasion for the department.

Dr. Vijayakumar delivered a lecture titled கலந்துரையாடுவோம் கவிதைகளோடும், கனவுகளோடும் (Lets Converse with Poems and Dreams), which suggested a blend of the poetic and the visionary. During his talk, he shared some of his own poems, likely exploring the connections between art, literature, and science. He encouraged the audience to engage with the world of physics through the creative lenses of imagination and poetry.

Academic Year - 2021-2022

The Association meeting for the academic year 2021-2022 was held on April 20, 2022. The Chief Guest, Dr. N. Sivakumar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Chikkiah Naicker College, Erode, delivered a lecture on “Importance of Nanostructured Lithium-Ion Batteries for Present and Future Generations.” In his presentation, Dr. Sivakumar provided insights into the evolution of batteries, including their structures and types in the modern world. He discussed their current applications and highlighted how advancements in battery technology, particularly nanostructured lithium-ion batteries, are poised to revolutionize future generations. 

Academic Year - 2019-2020

In the academic year 2019-2020, the Physics Association meeting was held on February 15, 2020. Dr. J. Dheepa, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Government Arts College, Coimbatore, was the Chief Guest and delivered a talk on “Physics Laws and Their Applications.” Her presentation focused on the fundamental laws of physics and their applications in classical contexts. The event also featured student-created exhibits illustrating these laws and included a quiz competition related to the topic.
