The Zoology department at LRG Govt. Arts College is equipped with laboratories for both B.Sc., and M.Sc., students, providing them with practical training and hands-on experience in Zoology. These well-equipped labs provide a conducive space for conducting various experiments and research projects. The B.Sc., lab facilitates fundamental learning and allowing undergraduate students to explore Zoology through practical exercises and demonstrations. On the other hand, the M.Sc., lab provides advanced equipment’s and resources to support research and specialized studies for postgraduate students. Department of Zoology has set up multiple labs to perform various biological experiments.

Provisions are available to carryout practical related to Molecular Biology, Microbiology, and Biochemistry. A well-furnished research laboratory is available in working condition. Our Department Instrumentation lab is a valuable resource that caters specifically to the academic and research needs of students, faculty, and researchers in the field of Zoology. This Department is equipped with major equipment such as  UV- Vis Spectrophotometer, Spectrophotometer, Digital Spectrophotometer, Compound microscopes, Dissection microscopes, BOD Incubator, Biological incubator, Deep Freezer, Refrigerator, Colorimeter,  Laminar Airflow Chamber , Electrophoresis unit UV trans illuminator , PAGE electrophoresis, Conductivity meter, pH meter, Electronic balances, Hot air Oven, Magnetic Stirrer,  Centrifuges, Microtome, Haemocytometer, Haemoglobinometers, Camera Lucida, Egg incubators, Computers with internet facility, LCD projector with the laptop for seminars and ICT-enabled classes.

The Department library is a valuable resource that caters specifically to the academic and research needs of students, faculty, and researchers in the field of Zoology. Every year fund is being allotted to purchase books and the library is equipped with a good collection of text books and reference books. The total number of books available is 2751.  The titles cover all major areas of Zoology, such as Invertebrate. Chordate, Animal Physiology, Ecology/ Environmental Biology, Genetics, Embryology, Laboratory Technology, Entomology, Biotechnology, Cell Biology,  Biochemistry, Microbiology,  Immunology, Biostatistics & Computer Applications, Biophysics, Bioinstrumentation,  Bioinformatics, Applied Zoology, Practical Zoology and Allied Zoology.

The college Zoology Museum is a remarkable asset that showcases a diverse collection of preserved specimens, artifacts, and exhibits, offering students, faculty, and visitors a captivating glimpse into the world of Zoology. The museum serves as an invaluable educational resource, providing a platform for students to observe and study a wide range of animal specimens up close, enhancing their understanding of animal diversity, anatomy, and evolution. Besides, we have a good collection of permanent slides both articulated and non-articulated bones of different vertebrates which are available for student practical class
