The land was generously donated by philanthropist Shri L.R.G. Naidu, after whom the college is named. The college began its journey on 15th July 1971, with an initial intake of 221 students, driven by L.R.G. Naidu's vision of educating women. Over the years, it has grown into a Post Graduate and Research Institution, providing high-quality education to women from Tirupur, Nilgiris, and Erode districts.
