The Youth Red Cross (YRC) at L.R.G College, established in 2020, is a significant part of the Indian Red Cross Society (Tamil Nadu branch). Like all branches of the Youth Red Cross, the YRC at L.R.G College is a non-religious, non-political, and non-sectarian humanitarian organization, dedicated to the mission of alleviating human suffering without any form of discrimination.
Mission and Principles
The YRC at L.R.G College operates under the broader mission of the International Red Cross, which was founded by Jean Henry Dunant in 1863 after he was moved by the plight of wounded soldiers during the Battle of Solferino. The YRC at L.R.G College upholds the same humanitarian principles and is guided by three fundamental objectives:
