YOUTH RED CROSS


Youth Red Cross (YRC) is a voluntary service body of our university which supports Humanitarian services to the fellow human being in Health related services to the community through voluntary service. YRC also provides training to develop leadership quality and overall personality improvement of the students by organizing and participating in the activities of YRC.
Youth represent a substantial part of the membership of Red Cross for its humanitarian commitment. Young volunteers can make a significant contribution to meet the needs of most vulnerable people within their local communities through Red Cross youth programme. This has been designed to involve young people as much as possible in the movement and its activities not only as workers and also as beneficiaries, but as partners in management.
Youth Red Cross started functioning in the college from the year xxxx.



Events organized since 2016

Rally on world population day was conducted on 22-07-2016. The district collector –Ms. Jayanthi inaugurated the rally which started from thennampalayam Govt. School at 10:30 AM followed by an awareness session by Joint Director of collegiate education & The Principal, L.R.G College campus. Around 300 students comprising Of NSS &YRC volunteers from L.R.G College and Nursing college students participated in the rally.
1. On 06/04/2018 “Health awareness comparison” organized by L.R.G GOVT ARTS COLLEGE FOR WOMEN, Blood grouping and health awareness was provided to around 250 students and staff members. The Program was organized with the support of faculty and students of KARPAGAM COLLEGE OF PHARMACY,COIMBATORE.
2. Our students S.Brundha and M.Kanimozhi of 2nd B.Sc CHEMISTRY participated in NSS-TAN SAC-RRC peer education training held on 28/03/2018 at Bharathiar University.
3. National Deworming was organized on 10/08/2018. Deworming tablets were distributed to all the 1ST & 2nd year UG students (aged below 20) from GOVT. primary health centre. Nurse T-EBI sundamedu UPHC had distributed the tablets to the students.
